Summary

Amends the

Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976
and
Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Amendment Act 2006
to establish an office of Executive Director of Township Leasing to enter into and administer 99 year leases over townships on Aboriginal land in the Northern Territory.

We acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of country throughout Australia and acknowledge their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to the people, the cultures and the elders past, present and emerging.
